Through non-judgmental, curious exploration of feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and relational dynamics, we can foster greater empathy for ourselves and others, enhance our capacity for meaningful change, and navigate challenges that arise. Our sessions will focus on deepening your self-understanding, alleviating painful symptoms, and integrating new ways of being both in the therapy room and in the world. My work is grounded in psychodynamic/psychoanalytic, relational, and trauma-focused theories. What does this mean?
Psychodynamic
I believe our early experiences and significant relationships shape our present. Together we will work to create links between your past and present, focusing on gaining emotional insight and uncovering root causes of your current struggles.
Relational
Therapy is most effective when the relationship is built on trust, connection, and mutual respect. Our work creates a space to explore relational patterns and experiment with new ways of connecting—within therapy, with others in your life, and, most importantly, with yourself. After all, relational trauma necessitates relational healing.
Trauma-Focused
Our work will prioritize a holistic understanding of your life experiences, recognizing the broader societal structures and power dynamics that are deeply intertwined with your relational world and sense of self. We will progress through therapy at a pace that ensures your safety, supporting you in reconnecting with the parts of yourself that seek to make more empowered choices. I specialize in working with PTSD, Complex Trauma, and all Dissociative Disorders (DP/DR, OSDD, DID).
